Experienced Irish Entrepreneur asks himself if he is crazy

Am I crazy or…….?
Why on earth would someone who doesn’t need to work anymore take on a project like Birchley Villages at 60 years of age?
This is a seriously intelligent question.

There are two good answers to this question at least they are good in my opinion!

The first question is what are my strong points and skill sets after a lifetime of experience in construction and business development processes?

The simple answer is a pragmatic common sense approach to any task at hand, and at all times not allowing any BS to get in the way of quality and value.

A very busy business life like I had in the past teaches you to learn from your own and others mistakes to ensure you avoid all possible negative outcomes and use time as efficiently as possible.

Many young people mistakenly think that I am intelligent, but I keep telling them they are more than likely more intelligent than me, and the only difference between us is simply a lot of experience, but invaluable experience, which I am happy to share with them, as long as they are happy to share their intelligence with me!!!

The second answer is purpose. At 60 years of age with 4 sons reared and doing well thank God, what would I do with my time that would replace the purpose?

Could I build communities for as many as possible like minded sometimes lost souls like myself, which would seriously improve their lifestyles and perhaps mental health also?
If I could, this for sure would be time well spent and worthwhile.

The thought also struck me that our community members will sometimes have the opportunity to share their skill sets with locals in the area where they move to, regardless of whether its teaching English to kids or whatever, and that can only lead to more purpose and positive outcomes for all.
